Compress Image to 50KB
Forms and portals often cap an uploaded photo or signature at around 50 KB. Add yours here and the tool shrinks it to just under 50 KB, keeping as much detail as the limit allows.
The result stays under this size whether a website counts 1 KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes. PNG files are saved as JPG so they can reach small sizes (transparency becomes white). If a picture is too large for the limit, its pixel size is reduced automatically.

How to compress an image to 50 KB
- Check the size limit above (50 KB is already set).
- Drop your JPG, PNG or WebP picture into the box, or tap it to choose a file.
- Press Compress. The tool tests different quality levels, and reduces the pixel size only if it must, until the file is just under 50 KB.
- Download the result. The file name ends with
_compressedand you can compress up to 10 pictures at once.
To reach 50 KB a large picture is scaled down and its quality lowered. In our test, a 3,508 x 2,481 pixel scan came out about 980 pixels wide at 50 KB. If a form also asks for exact pixel dimensions, resize the picture first and compress it second.

Frequently asked questions
How do I compress an image to 50 KB?
Add your picture, make sure "Target size" is selected, keep 50 KB as the limit and press Compress. The tool tries different JPEG quality levels, and reduces the pixel size if it has to, until the file is just under your limit. Then download it.
Is my picture uploaded to a server?
No. The compression runs in your browser using your own device, so the picture is never sent to our servers.
Will the result stay under the limit on every website?
The tool stays below your limit counting 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, which is also below the same number counted as 1,024 bytes. So the file passes whichever way a website measures it.
Why did my PNG become a JPG?
PNG files cannot be made much smaller by lowering the quality, while JPG files can. In target-size mode a PNG is saved as a JPG so it can reach small sizes, and any transparent area is filled with white. Use the quality slider if you need to keep PNG.
What if the tool cannot reach my limit?
It reduces the pixel size step by step before giving up. If a picture still cannot go below the limit, the tool shows the smallest size it reached, so you can pick a larger limit or a smaller original picture.
Can I set a minimum size as well?
No. The tool aims for a result just under your limit, which is usually close to it, but it does not add data to make a small file bigger. If a form needs a minimum size, set the limit close to the maximum the form allows.
