How do I scan a Google Authenticator QR code online?

When a website or app shows its 2FA setup QR code, open this scanner and either point your camera at it or upload a screenshot of it. The result shows the issuer, the account name and the live 6-digit code with a countdown, the same code an authenticator app generates for that secret. Anyone who holds the QR code can generate your codes, so do not share it or scan it on a shared device. The "Export accounts" QR code that Google Authenticator makes for moving accounts to a new phone is a different format (otpauth-migration): this scanner does not decode it, and it does not show or save it.

How can I check what a QR code contains before opening it?

Scan it or upload an image: the decoded content is shown first, together with its type (link, Wi-Fi, contact, 2FA and so on). A link is never opened automatically; you get an Open Link button and a reminder to verify the source, so you can read the full address before you tap it.

Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot or photo?

Yes. Choose the Upload Image tab and pick or drop an image that contains the QR code. It is decoded in your browser and the image is never uploaded to our servers.
