How to make a PDF from images
- Drop your images into the box above, or tap it to choose them. You can pick several at once.
- Drag the pictures into the order you want. The numbers show the page order.
- Choose the Page Size (A4, Letter, Legal or Fit to Image), the Orientation and how each picture should fit the page.
- Press Create PDF. The file images.pdf downloads at once, with one picture on each page.
Add More lets you add pictures later. To remove one, point at it (or tap it on a phone) and press the X that appears. Orientation only matters for A4, Letter and Legal, because Fit to Image sizes each page to its picture.
When the PDF is ready, shrink it with the PDF compressor or join it to another file with the PDF merger.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert JPG or PNG images to one PDF?
Drop your images into the box (JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 10 MB each). Drag the pictures into the order you want, choose the page size, orientation and image fit, then press Create PDF. The file images.pdf downloads at once, with one picture on each page.
How do I change the order of the pages?
Drag a picture to a new place in the "Images (drag to reorder)" list. The numbers on the pictures show the page order. To remove a picture, point at it (or tap it on a phone) and press the red X that appears in its corner. Add More adds pictures and Clear All starts again.
Which page size should I choose?
A4 is the usual paper size in most countries, and Letter and Legal are the usual sizes in the United States and Canada. Choose "Fit to Image" to make each page as big as its picture, with no empty space. Orientation is ignored in that case, and a large photo makes a very large page.
What is the difference between Fit, Fill Page and Stretch?
"Fit (Keep Ratio)" shows the whole picture, with empty margins if its shape differs from the page. "Fill Page" covers the whole page and crops the parts that do not fit. "Stretch" fills the page by changing the shape of the picture, which can distort it. Fit is the safe choice for documents and scans.
Are my pictures uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is built in your browser, on your own device, so your pictures are never sent to our servers.
Which image types and sizes work?
JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF files up to 10 MB each. There is no fixed limit on how many you add, but a very large batch can slow down a phone or an older computer. A file that cannot be used is skipped with a message that names it, and the other pictures are kept. An animated GIF keeps only its first frame, and a HEIC photo is often not accepted by a browser, so save it as JPG first.
Will my phone photos come out the right way up?
Yes. Photos taken in portrait on a phone are turned the right way up before they go into the PDF.
Does it make the file smaller?
No, and it can make it bigger. A normal JPG goes into the PDF as it is, so it adds about its own size. PNG pictures are re-saved, so their size can go up or down. WebP and GIF pictures are converted to PNG, which can make the PDF several times larger than the originals, and a phone photo that has to be turned upright is redrawn too. For the smallest PDF, use JPG pictures, and run the finished PDF through the PDF compressor.
