How to convert a PDF to JPG or PNG
- Drop your PDF (up to 10 MB) into the box above, or tap it to choose a file.
- Pick JPG or PNG under Output Format.
- Choose a Quality / Scale. 2x is a good start; use 3x for small print and 1x for a small file.
- Press Convert. Each page appears as a picture with its own Download button.
- Press Download All to save every page in one ZIP file (pdf-images.zip).
Changed the format or the scale? Press Convert again to make the pictures with the new settings. Single pages are saved as page_1.jpg, page_2.jpg and so on.
Need only a few pages? Pull them out with the PDF splitter first. Going the other way? Image to PDF turns pictures into a PDF.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a PDF to JPG?
Drop your PDF (up to 10 MB) into the box, keep JPG selected under Output Format, pick a Quality / Scale and press Convert. Every page becomes its own picture. Download the pages one by one, or press Download All to get them in a single ZIP file.
Should I choose JPG or PNG?
JPG files are usually a little smaller, so they suit scans and pages with photos. PNG keeps every pixel exactly, so text and thin lines stay crisp, but its files are usually bigger. Both formats give the page a white background; a PNG from this tool is not see-through. If you are not sure, start with JPG.
What does Quality / Scale do?
It sets how big and sharp each picture is. 1x is the standard size, 1.5x is a little bigger, 2x is twice as wide and tall and 3x is three times. An A4 page comes out at about 595 x 841 pixels at 1x and about 1,190 x 1,683 pixels at 2x. A higher setting is sharper, but the files are bigger and the conversion takes longer.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The pages are turned into pictures in your browser, on your own device, so the PDF is never sent to our servers.
Can I convert only some pages of a PDF?
The tool converts every page in the file. To convert only some pages, first pull them out with the PDF splitter, then convert the smaller PDF here.
Why do I see a warning for a long PDF?
Every page is drawn on your own device. With more than 50 pages the tool asks you to confirm, because a long PDF at 2x or 3x can slow down a phone or an older computer. Choose 1x, or split the PDF into parts, if it feels slow.
Why can my PDF not be opened?
The file must be a PDF of up to 10 MB. A password-protected PDF cannot be read, so remove the password first. A damaged file shows "Could not read PDF file".
